On Friday Brett Favre officially asked for his release from the Green Bay Packers in a letter sent by his agent Bus Cook.
This comes after Favre communicated to the Packers that he has the "itch" to play football again and was interested in rejoining
his team.

Following the 2007-2008 season Favre announced his retirement from the NFL in a very emotional press conference.
Favre told reporters he definitely felt he could still play.
Looking at his stats from last season there is no doubt that he can still play and at a very high level.
In what was thought to be his final season, the legendary QB racked up 4,155 yards passing, 28 Tds, 15 ints
and a 95.7 QB rating.
This was one of his most productive seasons in his career. In the 07-08 season Favre broke the all-time records
for most passing yards, touchdowns and victories.
